Best Garden Competition

1. The Garden Competition is open to any Nottingham City Council Housing Services tenant, any former tenant who has bought their house under the Right to Buy Scheme, anybody who has purchased a former council home on a Nottingham City Council Housing Services estate or any Nottingham City Council Housing Services leaseholder. Community Gardens operating within the city boundaries to the benefit and enjoyment of local residents can also enter.

2. The city-wide categories are:

• Best wildlife garden
• Best community garden
• Best edible garden
• Best floral display
• Best small / container garden
• Inspirational gardener of the year
• Best young gardener (must be no older than 17 years of age at time of entry)

The winners of each category will be judged to determine the Best overall garden winner

3. Entry for the competition is made available during the summer by completing the online entry form. Where an entrant cannot enter online, adjustments will be made to still allow entry. All entries must be received by the specified closing date. Shortlisting will be judged virtually based on the photographs provided. Shortlisted entries will then be judged in person to decide the winners. Winning gardens will then be revealed at an awards ceremony held later in the year

4. Entries can be made in a maximum of two categories.  

4. One winner will be awarded per category. Prizes will only be awarded upon the achievement of a 50% or more score.

5. Category winners will be notified in the autumn, although Nottingham City Council Housing Services reserve the right to extend the competition deadline.

6. Nottingham City Council Housing Services cannot accept any responsibility for loss or delay to entries.

7. By entering the competition you give Nottingham City Council Housing Services' permission to use photographs of your home or garden and your name and street to be included in related press releases and any future publications.
